Rotary Lebanon

Throughout Lebanon, there are 24 Rotary Clubs of which 7 are based in the capital city, Beirut.
Beirut is the home of the Rotary Club of Beyrouth, the first club in Lebanon which was chartered on 2 February 1932.
The Rotary Club of Tripoli was the second Rotary Club to be chartered on 23 January 1950.
Rotary Club of Saida was later established in 1956.

Artificial Reef Project Wins the Green Resources Award

 Rotary Lebanon- District 2450 and Lions Lebanon - District 351 were selected as winners of the Green Mind Award – category: “Green Resources” for the joint project “Artificial Reef in the Aabdeh Region (North Lebanon)”.

The project was a first of its kind in the Eastern Mediterranean, it was held in cooperation with the ministries of Environment, National Defense, Transportation, Public works, in addition to the Military, University of Balamand, and it was sponsored by IBL Bank.

Military tanks, buses and vehicles were drowned using heavy machinery into the Aabdeh Sea, to form a human-made underwater structure, to promote marine life and control the erosion occurring.
